Ordered a DIY ombre in a selection of blues, for a shawl I'm making for my brothers wedding.
Dispatch of the order was quicker than expected, but arrival delayed by the inept local post office!
However, on receipt, the yarn was beautifully packaged, even including some extra little gifts.
The yarn itself is gorgeous and so soft. I've never worked with untwist yarn before, so that took a little bit of getting used to, and a tip I remembered from somewhere about using a bead to keep the yarn strands together has helped.
I am really enjoying working with this yarn and the colours are lovely. I will post a picture when I finish the shawl.

My DIY Ombreccino cake was specifically chosen to make a parasol and I loved the idea of iridescent lurex glistening in the sunlight and complimenting the color combination I picked. Whilst I have no regret in choosing it, I have found that it takes a lot of care and patience to successfully crochet with a small hook and I would not recommend it’s use in an intricate pattern.
Don’t get me wrong! This will not deter me from ordering the lurex thread addition in the future, but I will be more judicious in my choice of hook size and pattern!
